Aileen Kehoe RM
RGN IBCLC – Midwife / Lactation Consultant / Holistic and Pregnancy Massage Therapist / Infant Massage Instructor
I am a Registered General Nurse, Midwife and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant with over 17 years experience working with mothers and babies. I have worked in Wexford General Hospital maternity department as a midwife since May 2005. I have 15 years experience working here, in the Antenatal, Labour and Delivery and postnatal care units.
In 2011, I qualified as an IBCLC. Since then, I work as a midwife offering specialist lactation and breastfeeding care and assistance throughout the hospital. I specialise in helping mothers who are having any issues or problems with breastfeeding including tongue ties.
I also work as a private lactation consultant and am part of the private lactation team Breastfeeding Consultants (South East of Ireland) offering specialist breastfeeding care and advice to breastfeeding dyads in the southeast of Ireland. I teach breastfeeding courses and present talks to health professionals about breastfeeding within the hospital setting.
I am the mother to two beautiful children, 13 and 9 years old. I love my work and I believe it is an absolute privilege to help women during this important time of their lives. As a midwife with over 17 years experience, my philosophy is simply that every breastfeed is a success. I aim to provide the best information and advice on breastfeeding that is right for you and your baby. I am here to support all mothers, babies and their families helping them to become empowered with their own mothering and breastfeeding journeys.
